Gozel Green: Gozel Green is a Nigerian label created by twin sisters Sylvia and Olivia Enekwe in 2010. Known for its eccentric and rustic colour tones, the brand has become a firm favourite among TV darlings such as Eku Edewor and Beverly Naya!
Loza Maléombho: Since she showed at last year’s fashion week, her work has made it to Beyonce’s Formation Tour and is frequently highlighted on Saint Heron, the platform created by Solange (Beyoncé’s younger sister). Her eclectic aesthetic and multi-cultural style which can be best described as a fusion between traditional cultures / sub-cultures and contemporary can be credited to her early worldwide exposure.
Maki Oh: Maki Oh is one designer that we watch out for each year as she continues to soar through the global fashion radar. Her designs have been worn by everyone from Flotus herself, Michelle Obama, to Lupita Nyongo. This year, she will show at an exclusive preview presented by Alara! As always, we are excited to be at the thick of it all.
Meena: Founded by Uju Offiah, Meena, has been a break out star of LFDW which is not surprising at all. Her design philosophy based on modern femininity, architectonic undertones and confident minimalism can be seen in clean cut and perfectly finished silhouettes. Already making waves outside of Nigeria, we recently spotted her piece on Dubai based blogger, Natalia Shustova.
Orange Culture: It seems the whole fashion scene cannot get enough of Orange Culture, one of LFDW’s biggest exports and neither can we. This probably has to do with its free spirited founder, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, who describes his line as movement for a creative class of men who are ‘self-aware, expressive, explorative, art-loving nomads’. We can’t wait to see what he sends down the run way this year.
