The long awaited LFDW is back and Jumia has thrown its weight behind the 2016 Lagos Fashion & Design Week starting today, Wednesday, 26th of October to Saturday, 29th of October, 2016.
The Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is a multiday fashion event platform that aims to drive the Nigerian and ultimately, the African fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of African designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria.
LFDW will also feature Runway Shows; showrooms featuring fashion products, textiles and accessories; nd Presentations featuring new season collections from designers in the African fashion industry; Fashion Business Series to facilitate conversations with key players from the Nigerian and Pan African fashion industry; workshops and master classes that facilitate knowledge transfer and networking opportunities across board
You can expect to be stunned by the assortment of jaw-dropping designs, ever-evolving trends and top Nigerian fashion that will be on display on these days. Jumia will be featuring some of Nigeria’s finest designers such as Jay Osbie, NMA & DMG at the X-retail exhibition stand. Attendees who participate in the red carpet photo shoot using the Jumia back drop will also be featured on the Jumia Intagram Fashion page.
According to the Head of PR, Ojuolape Asuquo, she said that “Jumia’s support of the LFDW was based on the need to need to adequately harness the abundant talent in the fashion industry to support the local economy. Hence, the Jumia Local initiative which is aimed at supporting Nigerian entrepreneurs who are producing locally a strong platform and the backing required to grow their businesses and sell their products to a nationwide customer-base.”
