Have you ever wondered whether you can pick up your Jumia orders from a physical shop? The answer is yes, you can. Jumia might be an online storefront, but we also operate a number of different pickup stations all over Nigeria. These stations serves as locations where you can choose to have your orders delivered to. There are plans to further increase the number of available pickup stations, but for now, you can view a list of all currently available stations here.
Why would you want to pick a pickup location over the door delivery option? Well, for starter it serves as an opportunity to save money and time, since it is comparatively cheaper to pick up from a pickup station. You can also choose when to go pickup your item, which can be at a time that is more convenient for you, unlike the door delivery option where you’d need to be available at the time of delivery in order to receive your item.
What is a Pickup Station?
A pickup station is where you want your order to be delivered to, instead of having it delivered to your designated address. When you order on Jumia, you can choose to pick it up from a pickup station close to you, so that you will be able to go retrieve it at a time that is most convenient to you, provided that is sometime within 7 days of receiving the pick-up notification.
How do you specify that an order should be sent to a pickup station?
If you want your package to be shipped to a pickup station near you, all you need to do is select “pickup station” as your delivery method at checkout, then specify a pickup station that is closest to you from the list of displayed pickup stations. If you would like your next order to be delivered to the same pickup station, you can add the pickup station to your address book on your account.
What are the operating hours of a pickup station?
Your Jumia orders can be picked up within the stipulated delivery period of 7 days, Monday to Saturday. Precise operating hours for each station can be found here.
How to pickup your item from the pickup station?
When your ordered item is available for pickup at your designated pickup station, an SMS or email notification will be sent to you. The address of the pickup station and its operating hours will be detailed in the email/SMS. During collection at the station, a valid ID will be required for identification. Any of the following ID cards can be presented at the point of collection:
- Driver’s License
- National ID Card
- International Passport
- Voter’s Card
- Work ID Card
- Student School ID Card
Can someone receive on my behalf?
If you know you won’t be available to make the pickup from the pickup station, you can send a representative to pickup on your behalf. Your representative would need to present a copy of your valid ID (see above), signed by you.
