1. Christmas Decorations: So many questions pop up when you think about Christmas decorations. How much to spend? What type of theme do you want? How much should you buy? and so on. The most important thing you should know about shopping for Christmas decoration is to go very simple and just get the necessary, not Everything you see. My Christmas decoration recommendations will be A Christmas tree (Preferably that plastic mounted that can easily be kept for future use), Christmas Lights (very important for the house and also for other occasions in the house) and finally Ornaments for decorating the Christmas tree as well as spots in the house. Ornaments add the pop to the house during the festive season.
2. Food: With a lot of people coming together during the holidays, you can’t argue about having more than enough during this season. We all know about the Christmas day cooking in Nigeria, how big it gets even in small families such as mine LOOOL. We have people stopping by after church to celebrate with us. Once there is food, there have to be Nice drinks that go with your meals this Christmas such as champagne, wines (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Spirits and other beverages you can offer your house guests during the festive season.
3: Entertainment: The Festive season brings people together and no Christmas is complete without entertainment kits from Games Consoles to Traditional Board games for Family time and also DVDs just in case DStv channels gets boring. You can have a collection of DVDs to catch up on during the holidays including New Nollywood movies. Last Christmas, the Lagos monopoly was the hottest Christmas game to gear up entertainment during the holiday but this year it is said to be The New PlayStation 4 which is not so cheap but there are game options as long as you don’t dull with entertainment this Christmas.
4: Clothing & Fashion: I remember growing up if my parents did not buy us Christmas clothes, then the season was not complete. At that time every kid had to wear a different and new cloth on Christmas day as well as to all the outings during the Christmas period. Now that I am all grown up, I shop a lot during Christmas for clothes because of the amazing promotions during the period(My little secret). I get on all the sites, sign up for Christmas email subscriptions so once sales start I know and start shopping. I will advise everyone to have a budget for cloth shopping this Christmas because once the sales start, you will need new gaffs for all the Christmas parole. Shop for your Christmas Baffs.
5: Christmas Gifts: What most people look forward to during Christmas is receiving gifts from their friends and Loved ones. I keep a Christmas wish list myself in case someone asks me what I want. Anyways your Christmas shopping budget must include money for Christmas gifts with a variety of items to get for everyone from Hampers (for Adults, Colleagues), Food (Adults), Toys (Children) Perfumes (Loved one or Yourself) or Fabric (For Older Aunties, Uncles, Grandparents). Remember No matter how little, it is the season of giving and gifts will be very much appreciated.
