Huawei confirmed three things this morning as it launched its new device, the Huawei G-Power, in Nigeria: it continues to be at the forefront of innovation in technology; it understands its African consumers and finally, it gives them what they want.

On Monday Huawei unveiled its brand new state of the art smartphone, available exclusively on Jumia.com.ng.
Huawei’s latest smartphone was first presented to tech specialists one week ago in Lagos, during a tech blogger conference co-organized by African e-tailer Jumia and Chinese telecommunications company Huawei. Bloggers in attendance were unanimous in their praise of the phone’s revolutionary features.

Huawei’s latest device comes with a 5’HD screen with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels. It has a super slim 8.5mm thickness and water wave curve design that gives it a wonderful aesthetic look.
The Huawei G-Power is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and runs on Android 5.1 lollipop android system. As for the camera, the Huawei G-Power packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies.

One revolutionary aspect of Huawei’s G-Power smartphone is its focus on battery life, the number one concern mentioned by smartphone users in Africa. Improving battery life for remains an object of study for many phone manufacturers as they strive to reconcile the painful power shortages and lack of adequate electricity infrastructure, with Nigeria’s thirst for technology. Huawei’s new smartphone comes the closest to bridging the gap and offering a long lasting solution to its African consumers.

Indeed, the Huawei G-Power can boast of a 4000MaH battery, allowing its users to spend up to 39 hours talking on the phone, surf on the internet for 15 hours, watch videos for 21 hours, listen to music during 113 hours and leave the phone for 419 hours on standby mode. A 10-minute recharge also allows the user to talk on the phone for 3 hours.

The most disruptive innovation is undoubtedly the device’s power sharing option, which allows its users to use the phone to charge any other device. A small revolution in the world of tech that will definitely leave its mark and become a reference for future devices.
