The list of finalists for this year’s prestigious World Retail Awards has been revealed and for the 4th year running, Jumia Nigeria has received a finalist nomination. This year, Jumia Nigeria has been nominated for the Responsible Retailer of the Year award.
The category recognizes businesses whose values form the cornerstone of good business practices through initiatives that are either focused on its people, suppliers, customers or the sustainable environment.
The 2017 World Retail Awards will take place on Thursday, April 6th at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, where more than 400 guests will gather to witness the announcement of this year’s winners.
The World Retail Awards was first launched in 2007 to recognize and lift the stature of the entire retail industry by promoting best practices across markets.
In 2013, Jumia Nigeria won the award for Best New Retail Launch, and in 2014 was nominated for CSR Initiative of the Year. This year, Jumia Nigeria has been nominated alongside world class retailers such as Boyner (Turkey), Carrefour Brazil (Brazil), Flora & Fauna (Australia), Myer (Australia), Otto Group (Germany), TOMS (United Arab Emirates) and Woolworths Holdings Limited (South Africa).
