The World Retail Congress has revealed the list of finalists for this year’s prestigious World Retail Awards. For the third consecutive year, Jumia has once again emerged as a finalist. As you would recall, Jumia won the award in 2013 as the Best New Retail Launch and was then nominated for CSR Initiative of the Year in 2014. Its a new year and we have a new feather in our cap! This year, Jumia has been nominated for the eCommerce Retailer of the Year award.
The nominated company looking to win this award must be the one that ultimately prevails in the requirements as stated on the World Retail Awards website:
“All retailers are having to be dynamic and responsive in serving their customers’ needs online and this award is therefore looking for examples of world-class e-commerce execution and delivery…customer centric and seamless in the delivery of information, products and services with growing sales, profits and improving customer service.”
Jumia will be vying for this award against world class organizations such as Matchesfashion.com – UK, Michael Hill Jewellery – Australia, Yoox Group – Italy, Appliancesonline – Australia, JD.com – China and Mudo – Turkey. Judging by our emphasis on customer satisfaction, impeccable attention to service delivery and exemplary growth over the past few years, you can say we have reason to be hopeful on this one.
About the World Retail Awards
Now in its ninth year, the World Retail Awards are recognised as a showcase for ‘retail excellence’. The awards attract entries from hundreds of retailers from over 50 countries across the world and the teams of expert judges select the retailers they believe are the most outstanding and worthy of a place in the final. The finalists will all be reviewed by a Grand Jury of senior retailers and sector experts to decide on the ultimate winners in each category.
